Nici

I was walking down Mariahilferstrasse and I was approached by a kid working for Amnesty International. They are a group working for the end of female mutilation. Although this happens primarily in Africa and Asia they are bringing awareness worldwide. So I met this girl Nici that was overseeing the group of kids approaching the passerbys on the busy shopping street. Nici was nice enough to let me snap away some fotos of her. There will be a series of these fotos on my site that will start in April. The new site will just be a series of photos galleries of new fotos that i really like. Oh, and to talk about my previous posting it seems there are a few #$%^ers out there watching my photoblog so I will make a better effort to keep some fresh postings to keep y'all interested and entertained. Today I went night skiing at Semmering. Its the closest " moutain " to Vienna. About a year ago was the first time I skiied and it was at this place. But wow, what a difference a year makes. Today I fell about three times. Not because I was out of control or anything, just because I am trying big jumps now. I'm talking about a couple of meters high. Not only big jumps but at a fast speed. I love skiing!! So see you soon!!

my dad is very modest. He is the reason I wanted to ever take fotos, I saw what beautiful memories could be captured with a camera. Ironically I was his Most fotographed subject just as Victoria was mine at one time. I will have to scan those in at some point. That was before ditigal cameras for me.

With every foto you take I can see improvement. I really like these; a far cry from the first photos you took at the age of 4, when you shouldn't had been playing with my carmera! Even then you were a better photographer than I. See ya in Florida. I'm leaving on Wed. 3/8.
Love,
Dad

exactly! As hard as it will be I would like to go take fotos one day on the slopes when I am not there to ski. That will be very hard to do. Perhaps I ski for half the day then shoot the afternoon and evening skiiers. Want to go Martin before you leave to NYC again? ;-)

yeah I told Vic it always looks the same anyway (what do I know of fotos - sorry . mea culpa). and last night would have been interesting to shoot. empty slopes, on some of them a kind of yellowish light. so very different from some of the ski-fog fotos or ski-sun fotos that I look forward seeing on Vics new foto site.
but also , if he takes his camera skiing than the evening/day is no longer about skiing it is about taking fotografs. yes??

When I bring my camera on ski trips then I can't be so daring to do big jumps and go crazy. If I fell with my camera then ... well my camera would be all messed up. but you can see some ski trip photos if you look in my past postings. I might have a ski series when I update my website in April ( I hope ;-) )
