Time

Time is running fast and the months have passed in the blink of an eye. Major events of my life are happening so close together. My european life is merging with my american life. People are crossing the ocean to come and celebrate with Monika, me and our family and friends over here. Its an amazing feeling when family and friends from both sides are coming together. I'm experiencing a joy that is so great. At the same time I am saying bye for now to the friends that I've made here, bye to the places that have become the backdrop to my everyday life. At the same time I tried to do somethings that I wanted to do while here but didn't get around to them. There are just too many... Our wedding plans are just about finished(if that is possible) now is only the fun part. Time to celebrate, to eat and drink, dance and just have fun.

Marsha and Valentine

Marsha is a friend of mine that I work with at Brooklyn Academy of Music. Valentine is her partner. They are here in Europe for Monika's and my Wedding that is on June 20th. They flew in to Budahpest and spent about three days in Vienna and now are heading to the Czec Republic. It was so cool to play tour guide for them because they are very well seasoned travellers and have been all over the globe. We did a hell of alot of walking wich I can still feel as well as eating and drinking. I'm sure Marsha appreciated the walking especially after I encouraged her to have icecream at our local Eis shop. To her surprise when she got a banana split that came with 5 scoops instead of the traditional 3. haha. Well it was great to see them and we talked so much and had a great time. Valentine was able to find some bank notes to buy for his collection back home. It was cool to see the look in his eyes like a kid that just got the lastest baseball cards or comic book.

Scenes from Salzburg

So a rainy day in Salzburg was beautiful. The Birthplace of Mozart on this his 250 birth year was a lovely city. We visited his birthhome and then walked around the cobble stone paths and looked at the many shops at the Furst Cafe- Kondetorei where the Mozartkugl was invented and still being made by the greatgrandson. We crossed the river Salzach. There in the last picture you see two young boys running away from their mom and laughing. I like things like this because worldwide children are the same. Full of mischeif. Boys will boys is the saying back in the US. It seems that Vienna is having a late rainy spring after we had a nice warm begining. I hope it goes away soon. On the NBA front, The Miami Heat defeated the Detroit Pistons. Seems that the Detroit Pistons just dont have it in them anymore to pull out the impossible wins. Congrats to Shak and Co. It seems its their destiny to win but they still will face the winner of game 7 from the Pheonix Suns Dallas Mavericks showdown. Maybe one of them will play the spoilers or the victims. We'll have to wait and see. I didnt make it to see the game last night at 2am and I'm glad because it wasnt much of great game. Well talk to you soon.

Fürst things First

In the year 1890...
the Salzburg confectioner, Paul Fürst, created the now world famous Salzburger Mozartkugel. He was awarded a gold medal for his product, which had already become famous, at the Paris Exhibition of 1905.
Norbert Fürst, the present proprietor of this establishment, still makes these fine chocolates today according to the old recipe and method handed down to him by his great-grandfather. For this reason, these can truly be called

Its a small world after all

So last weekend I saw buildings or monuments from all over the world. See if you can see what building is from what country.

Shaq on his Back
I miss this time of year in the USA. The NBA finals have been going on and they have been really exciting. The Clippers were in it and even were having people talking about a possible LA vs LA battle. You had Clevland in there fairy tale underdogs hoping to surprise the world and now you have an epic Battle that seemed just yester day that was going to be a lopsided show down and an easy win for the Miami Heat with Shaq and Co. They looked invincible. And now... It seems that The Detroit Pistons are on there way to pulling off what seems to have become they're specialty... winning elimination games. I will try Friday night at 2am Vienna time to go and see the game live on tv somewhere or maybe on tv. Here is a link to an article i read this morning about last nights game. --->click here<---
