Allison my sister, Christian my nephew & Lee my mom back in the day

A few weeks ago my sister came to visit with her new baby Christian and her daughter Brooke. It was such a great visit. Not to mention that Allison brought tons of maternity clothes for Monika! What a lifesaver that was because Monika was going through hell trying to find something to wear.
Allison and me didn't always know each other. We didn't meet until I was 15 years old when our aunt Helen brought Alison to my house around thanksgiving day. Any now we don't see each other nearly enough but as our mom has taught us its never too late. So I hope that we see each other more. At least with technology we keep in touch more with email and My Space. So Alice had this photo that she carries with her of our Mom when she was younger. I think its a great picture.

67 Burger is the best burger in Ft. Green

Hands down the best burgers in Ft. Green. I have to say I'm a turkey burger eater, but if their turkey burgers are this good everything must be good.
The first time I got food at 67 Burger I decided I would really put them to the test, I ordered a turkey burger but I wanted it as a "blue burger". They have names for some of burgers that come with toppings and sauces ready go but its for the "burgers". When you order turkey burger in some other places all of a sudden they assume you dont want all the bad stuff(bacon, blue cheese, barbque sauce, cheeses, etc.) They even go as far as to substitute fries with a salad!! So I always ask for one of the ready to go kind of burgers except with a turkey burger.
Most times it throws them for a loop when they are new establishments with new staff. So was the case here as well as across the street from 67 Burger at Mullanes.
Any how first time out I ordered the blue burger onion rings and a vanilla milkshake. Although it cost me some where in the range of 18$ I was extremely pleased with the taste of everything!!
I was actually raving for a couple of days. I tend to usually pack food from home and not eat out except for special occassions or when I get really busy at work and then eating out is also a relaxing thing.
Let me tell you I've been back three more times and tried different kinds of turkey burgers, bbq sauce with onions, just plain with lettuce and tomatoe and then of course my favorite the blue burger(turkey)!!
I tell you go get a burger there now!! MMMMMMMMMMM. it reminds me of Pulp Fiction when Jules says I do enjoy a tasty burger!

Crash Mobile

In March something amazing happened. Monika and Me after discussion on weather we needed to buy a new car or new used car decided to fix the one we had. Mind you the car was crashed up and refered to by me as crash mobile. Its a two door and only one door worked. For years people hopped in through the drivers side and stretched and pushed and fumbled over the gear shifter and break lever. The hood was held closed by 3 bungee cords, the right fender was crashed up. Then one day these guys that drive around looking for suckers found me and they claimed they could fix the dents and crashed areas with some putty mix and a little work. Well after a couple of months that started looking like shit and got worse and worse. When I first met Monika I was embarassed when she saw my car. I was embarassed if coworkers saw it. I mean i never fixed it because i felt that if it ran good (it got me to florida every summer, went to our nations capital in it. went to Niagrafalls and Toronto in it. The airconditioner worked until a couple of years ago. Any how now Crash Mobile is born again. I love it. both doors work and it looks great and thanks to my Mechanic also named Victor and related through my step mom, my dad's wifes brother in law. He's kept Crash mobile in tip top shape mechanically. He brought me and crash mobile to a body shop guy that is located right next to Shea Stadium and the new Citi Field in Queens. The last thing for now that needs to be fixed is the AC then it will be complete.

Marina und Stefan

So a few weeks ago Marina, an old friend of Monika, and her husband Stefan came to visit us. It was a nice time to show them around. We ended up taking them to Central Park then to the Museum of Natural Art, The Whitney, we ate at Carmine's on 91st Street. It was so nice. It was nice to meet them and also show them around as well. On their last night we were supposed to go to Willie's Steakhouse in the Bronx for their wednesday night latin jazz night, but Monika was feeling very tired and unable to do anything. I guess next time we can have dinner there.

The Last Stop of the 6 train.

A couple of weeks ago I walked with Monika from home to the last stop of the 6 train, we usually take the QB1 two stops to the 6 train but because Monika is pregnant and cannot ride bike like we used to ( to work ) We try to take walks sometimes. So on the way back I shot these photos. I like the contrast of nature and trees to cement, cars, bikes and steel. At this point just across from Pelham Bay Park the contrast is most evident. The highway that passes by is I95 New England Thruway/ The Bruckner Expressway the interchange I think its to refered on the new when it gets backed up.

This was just outside the trainstation a bridge that crosses the expressway over to Pelhambay Park and the bus that takes you to Orchard Beach. Its good to see someone bikes to the train.

This is the bike path to Orchard Beach from the side of Pelham Bay Park just across from the walkway bridge to the trainstation.

This is an old NYPD/NYFD call box. These used to be all over the city and hooked up to dispatchers that could relay emergencies to the nearest police or fire departments. Now they are just cool relics scattered through out the 5 boros.

Just on the otherside of the bike/walk path in the photo above are these trees and some benches to sit on. Its very peaceful and green!

This was on the walk/bike path back home to Co-Op City. In the back round is an Express Bus and in the front is a tattered American Flag that fell off a car and is just caught on a metal marker off the express way. This is for Martin who has many American flag photos and loves the express bus.

This is one of the walk/bike way bridges that cross over roads or railroad tracks on the way back home.

Cool Victoria

Victoria is quickly growing up. She has turned into a beautiful young lady. I'm very proud of her and the time we spend is so amazing. Sometimes when I'm working alot she ends up spending alot of time with Monika too but that is really nice too. Last Sunday Monika left us to go set up a baby shower for our friend Sophia. Victoria made me breakfast (she is quite the cook and she let me cut up some sausages and cheese for her) we ate a nice breakfast and then took the express bus to the train to meet up with Monika later on. Victoria is just a cool kid.

@ The Grind

These are four of my photos that are hanging at a cafe in Queens called "the Grind". My friend Lisa from Florida who is an Artist told me about this place in her neiborhood that we could hang our stuff in for their grand re-opening a few weeks ago. So I had some photos that I printed and framed for a Bam employee art exhibit back in January. I ended up using two of the photos from that and I added two more that I had printed back then. If you click --->HERE<--- you can see a slide show the girl Sarah Hamilton made on her website. She helped with the decoration of the Cafe and has alot of her photos hanging there as well. If you click on her name you can see her website. and if you click on The Grind you will see their myspace page.

Mama und Papa in ("the real") Little Italy, Arthur Avenue in the Bronx

Last Week Monika's Parents ended their round the world trip that started in Vienna a few weeks before in New York City. Well they had one more stop at home after New York City. So after a day in the city shopping with Monika ( I had to work ) we decided to go to what I refer to the real Little Italy. I tend to be very patriotic when it comes to my home boro of the Bronx. It won't take much to get me started on all the beauty there is to be seen and ejoyed. Any way we were headed to one of my favorites on Authur Avenue, Dominicks but they had a 45 to 1 hour wait so we went just up the street to Emila's. I had never eaten there and was very excited and then later very pleased that we did. The decor was more intimate than Dominick's. Monika's mom, Brigitte brought this up when we were going to wait at Dominick's. The food at Dominick's is excellent but its sought of "lunch room seating". They pack em in there. I have to say it was a good call on Brigitte's part. We ate until we were ready to burst.
