Well its been a while since I've posted, that is because since the last week of January I've been very busy with photo shoots. Things have been picking up for me and I'm really happy. I am also begining to learn more and more things I need to work on as far as photography. A good friend of mine, Martin is helping me out with this. Another friend of mine, Mattias has given me alittle advice as well. I also need to work on posting more often. In the past I have tried to blame it on people not posting comments but at least I have a good reason of being really busy. So these three fotos are from a party I went to Saturday night over by Praterstern. It was a going away party for a girl, Sorry but I'm so bad with names. So there was this game where two people hold up a pole with 3 apples hanging on strings. three couples line up facing eachother on each side of an apple and they race to see which couple finishes their apple first. It was really a good game and I enjoyed watching it. In the foto with the three girls two of them are sisters. The taller one is Maria and the shorter one is Ignacia. They were really cool and fun to talk with. The third girl I forgot her name but she had just flown in from Spain where most of the people in this party are from. There were also a few Italians and one Dominican. The Dominican guy is really fun to hang out with and reminds me of the spanish people in NYC. Well thats it for now.

Tribute to Alexander Wunderer (1877-1955)

wunderers2.JPG

Monika's father, D.I. Robert Wunderer gave a speech about his grandfather Alexander Wunderer, who his youngest son is named after. In his speach he spoke of his grandfather's love for music and attention to being on time. Robert talked of his childhood memories when he visited his grandfather. Alexander Wunderer was a composer of music. He played and taught the oboe. He was friends with composer Franz Schmidt. Alexander Wunderer composed the pieces played this evening called " Die Jahreszeiten in Ober St. Veit." After his marriage ended Alexander Wunderer spent three years at Ober St. Veit. There was a woman he fell in love with and they would have their friends all come over and play music together. These three years there and their romance inspired his composisition. Die Jahreszeiten in Ober St. Veit means the the seasons of Ober St. Veit and this series of composistions are songs that tell of the four seasons in Ober St. Veit.

Afterwards we went to Cafe Wunderer. I thought that was very fitting. However there is no connection, besides the common name, to the restaurant and Monika's family. :-)

Barty Time

Barty1.JPG
So the bar was finished and Monika came up with the idea to have a " Barty " to celebrate and break it in. Actually we always planned to have a celebration but not to call it a "Barty". So it was very nice friends, family and neighbors joined us for a grand ole time! Some people brought us spirits others just good cheers. One of our neighbors Eva brought us a delicious cake. There were even children allowed but as long as they promised not to drink.
