Cool Victoria

Victoria is quickly growing up. She has turned into a beautiful young lady. I'm very proud of her and the time we spend is so amazing. Sometimes when I'm working alot she ends up spending alot of time with Monika too but that is really nice too. Last Sunday Monika left us to go set up a baby shower for our friend Sophia. Victoria made me breakfast (she is quite the cook and she let me cut up some sausages and cheese for her) we ate a nice breakfast and then took the express bus to the train to meet up with Monika later on. Victoria is just a cool kid.

Jenga, >click here< is a fun game that we played last weekend when Victoria came over. On the box it says that experts can get up to 36 layers of woodblocks high. We got up to 31 before the tower came crashing down but we'll give it another try next week.

Victoria and Orchard Beach

This past weekend Me Victoria, and Martin went for a walk at Orchard Beach.
It's a manmade beach in the northeastern end of the Bronx, it's on the Long Island Sound across from Long Island. I usually go there the most during the off season because come summertime its packed with many people, barbequeing, sunbathing, swimming, or on the boardwalk people watching, salsa dancing, basketball playing, volleyball playing or watching the live Latin Bands. I will ride bike through there from time to time during a summer but to go and spend a day there would be to wild and hectic. I spent many summers there doing all the things there is to do. I used to be like a Bronx reunion because it seemed you would always run into old friends and even family there.
So as you can see in the pictures Victoria is growing like a tree, very tall and beautiful. She loves walking through the nature trails or picking up interesting rocks and seashells off the beach when the tide goes out. We've been coming to Orchard beach for as long as I can remember. Besides Central Park I think it's one of her favorite places to visit when she is with me.
One of the good things about this area is that when you are there you forget that you are in the Bronx or even in NYC. Its very peaceful and relaxing.
This visit has been amazing and mostly its because I can see Victoria not only growing in size but also maturing and having an understanding of things. It's very exciting and also its a little emotional for me. To see my little girl turning into a little lady.
As usual I feel so close to Victoria. Even with the time we've spent apart from one another we have a deep understanding that I can not explain.

Victoria

For those of you who don't know, Victoria is my 10 year old daughter. The hardest part of my decision to come to Vienna was that I wouldn't see much of her now. I separated from her mother in early 1999 but because we all lived in the Bronx I enjoyed alot of time with Victoria. There were always times when her mother caused problems for what ever reasons when it came to scheduling time with Victoria but for the most part I worked around it and dealt with alot of nonsense. A couple of years ago Victoria moved upstate about an hour away. So began the slow decrease in the time that I got to spend with her. There was no co-operation from her mother and Victoria's and my time together began to be less and less. On top of it being less and less there was more resistance from her mother and at times from even Victoria. With out getting in too much details I think little by little I was weared down over the years of fighting and then later on having to compomise just to get a few hours in the weekend with Victoria.
So ultimately I thought it would a good time the way things were going anyway to take a break from the negativity surrounding that scenario. It is very emotionally draining.
Even so I know that there is a bond with Victoria. We've had many good times and we still have good times ahead of us. I really miss her. I call her on weekends but manytimes I get an answering machine. My emails go unanswered too, but I'll just keep writing and calling and it will be ok. Victoria is a great little girl. Here is a picture this past summer at my Bronx apartment. We were playing a lot of chess this summer. I taught Victoria how to play chess at the age of 3. It took some years for her to reach a level that she is aware of attacks on her pieces and I can see her trying to trick me or attack me. We have driven to Florida about 4 times. We drove to Canada last December and to Washington D.C. a couple of year before. We spent alot of time in central park and we still have two buried treasures there. We also spent alot of time in Orchard beach walking through the nature trails and at the beach side as well. She plays soccer too and her Gameboy.
